Hello.  My name is Esther Hollander and I am the instrumental music teacher at Adelante.  We will offer beginning and continuing group lessons in band and string instruments to interested sixth graders this year. 

This will be my eleventh year teaching school music, and my first year in Redwood City.  I grew up outside of Washington DC and just came to California two years ago.  I am very passionate about making music and have played oboe and English horn with symphony orchestras in Maryland, Virginia, Washington DC, Arkansas, Missouri, and California.  My very first band instrument lessons were through my public school music program and I am excited to be offering a similar program to the students at Adelante. 

When I am not busy teaching or making music, I enjoy hanging out with my husband, Max, and my cat, A capella.  I also like watching baseball and football, playing softball, and reading – especially historical fiction.
